It’s old meets new, as the old Finnieston Crane towers next to the brand new Finnieston Bridge down at the River Clyde in Glasgow. The crane was built in 1931 and was the largest crane in Europe at the time of construction. It is now one of the most identifiable images of Glasgow.
The Finnieston Bridge aka ‘The Clyde Arc’ opened on 18th October 2006 and is the first road bridge to be built across the Clyde in 35 years at a cost of £20.3m.

Sunset at Rowbank Reservoir on a cold autumn day here in Howwood. Shot taken just after 4pm.

It’s a while since i’ve visited this mysterious abandoned farm close to Rowbank Reservoir, one of the few ruins in the area that’s not marked on my map. Autumn really kicking in now as you can see, shot taken about an hour before sundown.

A close look at the Semple Temple, built 1727, on top of Kenmuir Hill in Howwood. You can see the entrance to this strange building in this shot, but there is nothing inside.

The Kibbleston Road is a back road which runs between Howwood and neighbouring Kilbarchan here in Scotland. Shot taken close to the Semple Temple.

Whittliemuir Walk leads south out of Howwood, Scotland and is a good couple of miles walk past the now drained Whittliemuir Reservoir.

I thought this tree looked great in the evening light, about an hour before sunset on what was a very hot day in Howwood, Scotland.

A great view of Largs, a town on the west coast of Scotland. On the left you can see the ferry arriving from the nearby island of Cumbrae, about a 10 minute journey away.
